IN THE FLOW OF THEATRE

IN THE FLOW OF THEATRE

Theatre training accompanied by stress measurement

2 days English session on 15-16 June 2024

 WHAT TO EXPECT?

Flow, unexpected situations and integration, developing creativity, releasing direct reactions, sharpening attention. Liberating, stress reducing exercises. Playing out, releasing tensions. Practice going with the flow. We connect with each other, keeping our attention on ourselves.

Overskudd, a cutting edge product of the Scandinavian technological revolution, gives the participant a realistic baseline of their own stress and relaxation levels, physical fitness, sleep patterns. An analysis of heart rate (instantly visible online on the app) highlights the difficulties that sap energy from our lives. Even a shorter measurement can bring significant results in terms of life management awareness, but longer measurement periods can help to avoid old mistakes and stabilise positive new habits.

The two-day training is associated with a minimum one-week measurement period when you can learn about own stress character, study your responses from multiple perspectives,.

Maximum group size: 12 people.

Age: 19-60 years.

WHO LEADS

The training will be led by Balázs Simon, a director and theatre practitioner, often leading research team researching the impact of art therapy and participatory theatre training on stress. Research to date has found that the stress-relieving, vitalising effects of artistic exercises can be clearly measured. A protocol developed by researchers makes personal well-being developable and analysable in small groups. Simon has decades of experience leading theatre trainings with therapeutic effect primarily for vulnerable segments of society.

SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUND

We offer the above protocol toolkit to our applicants, including the possibility to take questionnaires and use digital health measurement tools.

Through the measurements, the sensory data compared to your diary entries recorded with your phone, selected from a customized dropdown menu of the various activities tagging the current stress load on the dashboard. The sensory and questionnaire measurements, which are taken during the training sessions, allow the participants to monitor the degree and nature of the stress they experience in social situations.

The stress/well datbeinga and the feedback from the questionnaires will be discussed with the participants during additional individual sessions.

During the theatre training, rule games and pair and large group improvisations will bring the experience of flow. Play is an effective way to release control of behaviour and emotions. The positive effects of performative games are enhanced by the personal relationships that are created in the free and safe space of the theatre.

Personal development is tangible, in terms of attention and self-confidence. New ways of coping emerge during improvisations and are easily incorporated into the behavioural repertoire.
